The clay externally
In external application, we will make poultices of clay .
It has an antibacterial and healing action on wounds. Very effective therefore for wounds since it cleans the wound by pulling dirt and bacteria outwards, prevents inflammation and possible infections, calms pain and allows rapid healing .
Also effective for burns , it acts in the same way as on a wound. It calms the pain and prevents the appearance of blisters.
For our horses with delicate skin, it relieves sunburn !
As I said above, in a poultice, the clay also acts on the tissues that are deeper below. It is therefore used for sprains , it relieves aches and is a very good drainer in the case of engorgement , effective for various skin problems … These are just a few examples among many others!
The clay internally
For internal use, the clay can be given to drink with water . Either water alone, once the clay is at the bottom (but rather to be used to purify the water that our horses drink), or the mixture of water and clay, which has a stronger action.
Clay helps cleanse the body from within . It detoxifies . This is why it may be interesting to have your horse do a clay cure in the spring or any other change of season to help cleanse the body. In addition, it can make it possible to fill mineral deficiencies, because the minerals present in the clay are assimilated by the body.
The clay is effective in case of inflammations and infections, whether internal or external .
Clay internally is recommended in cases of diarrhea , which it helps to stop, as well as in cases of ulcers , where it acts as a bandage, in addition to allowing tissue healing.
